This was announced by Minister of Health Paulette Lenert in the Chamber of Deputies on Tuesday afternoon. Lenert made this statement in reply to an urgent parliamentary question by the Christian Social People’s Party (CSV).
Regarding the choice of the booster vaccine, Luxembourg’s High Council for Infectious Diseases has recommended the use of an mRNA vaccine. The vaccine produced by Moderna is used particularly often because it has repeatedly had the best results in numerous studies, the Minister explained.
Lenert also stated that with a supply of 10,000 doses of the vaccine produced by Johnson&Johnson, and 50,000 doses each for the products by Moderna and BioNTech/Pfizer, Luxembourg is well prepared for a new vaccination campaign.
