Starting with Luxembourg

  • The latest figures from Luxembourg show that 919 new cases of coronavirus were discovered over the last 72 hours, while five new deaths were reported.

  • The current Covid-19 situation is “tedious” and represents “an additional effort” for doctors and nursing staff, according to AMMD President Dr Alain Schmit, who added that the pandemic is “definitely not over yet”.

  • Minister of Health Paulette Lenert has confirmed that an employee of the National Health Directorate did indeed try to get a colleague to certify a forged PCR test result.

  • As Luxembourg’s economy braces itself for another potential Covid-19 wave, the National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (STATEC) reports that the unemployment rate is down to 5.3%, which is lower than before the pandemic.

And abroad
