The accident, a head-on collision between two cars, took place at around 7.20am. Following the impact, one of the vehicles was thrown off the road, hitting a tree with force and coming to a halt on its side.
According to initial information gathered by police at the scene, two people were injured and have been transported to the hospital for medical treatment. Traffic on the N4 is heavily disrupted, and police are urging motorists to avoid the area.
