The demonstration started around 2pm this Friday. The Lëtz Rise up organisation underlined in a statement that the focus of the demonstration will be on expressing support with the African American community.
The goal of the demonstration, they added, is to send a message against racism that black people still fall prey to in their everyday lives. Around 1,500 people registered for the demonstration on social media.
The streets in front of the embassy in Limpertsberg were closed to make room for the expected influx of protesters. Rue Emanuel Servais and Rue Paul Eyschen will remain closed to traffic until the end of the demonstration.
