LUkraine asbl is launching its third UA Days, a cultural festival running from 6–15 June 2025 that aims to strengthen ties between Ukraine and Luxembourg through a programme of events celebrating Ukrainian heritage.

As the UA Days festival returns to Luxembourg, LUkraine asbl Vice‑President Inna Yaremenko highlights the event’s mission to showcase Ukraine’s living culture – from music and film to art and cuisine – and to foster meaningful connections beyond the headlines of conflict. “Every concert ticket, every film screening, every gathering is a small act of solidarity that strengthens Europe’s shared democratic fabric”, she says. “We invite everyone to join us, to listen, and to celebrate, because when cultures talk to each other, societies stand together.”

6 June 7.30pm–9pm: UA Days opening concert

Piano Quintets by Vasyl Barvinsky and Borys Lyatoshynsky.

The opening evening’s programme highlights two of Ukraine’s most important composers, whose music blends national identity with universal emotions.

7 June 6.30pm–8pm: Concert-conference on Ukrainian classical music by Violina Petrychenko

This unique concert-conference offers an inspiring journey into the world of Ukrainian classical music, guided by pianist and musicologist Violina Petrychenko, and is organised thanks to the partnership with Club de Musique des Institutions européennes, Pianos Kelly and Mr. Geoff Piper.

11 June 7pm–9pm: Screening of “Slovo House. Unfinished Novel”

Slovo House is a story about a generation of Ukrainian artists persecuted by the totalitarian system, unfolding against the backdrop of one of the largest genocides of the 20th century – the Holodomor. Directed by Taras Tomenko and screened in partnership with Cineast.

13 June 8pm–10pm: UA Days in Kufa: Alyona Alyona

Alyona Alyona, a Ukrainian rap diva, is one of the top three artists in Ukraine and one of the most recognisable Ukrainian artists in the world. In 2024, Alyona Alyona, together with singer Jerry Heil, was chosen to represent Ukraine at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024. Their powerful performance, directed by Tanu Muino, impressed the fans of the contest and, with great support, they took third place in the competition.

This performance is possible thanks to the partnership with Kulturfabrik.

14 June 5pm–11pm: On the way to the Boulevard de Kyiv

Luxembourg introduced the Boulevard de Kyiv in solidarity with Ukraine, and we want to introduce Kyiv to Luxembourg!

19 June 2025 7.30pm–9pm – Old Movies and Jazz: Man with a Movie Camera

“Man with a Movie Camera” (1929) is a masterpiece of the world’s documentaries and silent movies, filmed by Dziga Vertov in Ukraine. What makes the experience even more special is the accompaniment of the jazz quartet with a soundtrack composed by Vitaliy Tkachuk explicitly for this movie and performed by Vitaliy himself alongside Luxembourgish musicians.
