Two pedestrians were injured in separate car accidents in Esch-sur-Alzette and Luxembourg City, while fire crews responded to a kitchen blaze in Bettembourg and a rubbish bin fire in Rodange, authorities report.

Shortly after 5pm on Monday, a person was injured after being hit by a car on Rue Jean-Pierre Michels in Esch-sur-Alzette.

In a separate incident that happened around 2am on Tuesday, a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on Rue Joseph Junck in Luxembourg City. Emergency services were despatched to assist the injured person.

Fire crews were also mobilised twice in recent hours. At 7pm, a kitchen fire broke out in a home on the main road in Bettembourg, with local firefighters called to the scene.

In Rodange, firefighters were deployed to extinguish a burning rubbish bin.
