As part of a wider negotiation on collective agreements, the LCGM is advocating providing employees with a choice between a higher wage or fewer hours.

The reason for this demand is to provide employees with more flexibility, such as by working on a part-time basis, which allows employees to care for family members or look after their children.

The trade union believes this measure should be implemented retroactively, but only apply to companies with more than 50 employees. The trade union is also advocating that the working code (Code du Travail) specify that every employee has the right to time-banking.

The trade union met with Minister of Labour Dan Kersch on Thursday to discuss these demands.
