According to information obtained by RTL, a malfunction occurred on the rear door of an aircraft. This unanticipated hiccup resulted in the cancellation of the scheduled return flight from Tuscany to Luxembourg on Sunday.
Efforts to swiftly mobilise a replacement aircraft proved unsuccessful, necessitating the re-accommodation of affected passengers on alternative flights. Consequently, some travellers found themselves spending up to two additional nights on location before their eventual return. The final returns are scheduled for Tuesday 12 September.
Luxair told RTL that the airline had arranged the customers’ extended stay. The aircraft in question, a Bombardier Q400, is being repaired on-site.
