Police arrested a motorist on Monday evening after a dramatic chase from Bonnevoie to Gasperich, during which two officers were injured.

Police officers spotted a suspicious vehicle in Rue du Puits, Bonnevoie, at around 5.40pm on Monday. When they attempted to stop the car for a routine check, the driver sped away, prompting a high-speed pursuit through the city streets. During the chase, the motorist drove on pavements and even collided with a police vehicle in an attempt to escape.

The pursuit came to an end in Rue Charles Darwin, Gasperich, when the fleeing driver crashed into a parked car and was unable to continue. Officers quickly apprehended the suspect at the scene

Two police officers sustained injuries during the incident and required hospital treatment. The suspect’s vehicle was seized on the orders of the public prosecutor, and an investigation into the case has been opened.
