3,778 students are set to begin their final secondary school exams, with assessments overseen by 1,588 commission members across both classical and general education tracks.

According to a press release from the Ministry of Education, the written exams for the final year of Luxembourg’s secondary education system will begin on Monday, 19 May.

A total of 3,778 students are registered for the summer session exams, of whom 56.8% are young women (2,145) and 43.2% are young men (1,633). Of these, 1,650 candidates are sitting the exams in the classical secondary track and 2,128 in the general secondary track. Among the overall candidates, 36 students, including 22 women and 14 men, are enrolled in evening courses, according to the press release.

The examination process will be overseen by 255 commissions comprising 1,588 members, who will assess written, oral, and practical tests.

The exams mark the conclusion of their secondary studies and serve as a gateway to higher education or entry into the workforce.
