
Among other incidents, a crash occurred on Saturday evening on the N26 near Wiltz, heading towards ‘Schumannseck’. According to initial information, the driver skidded after driving over an oil spill, causing the vehicle to hit an embankment and come to a stop on the opposite lane. The driver was taken to hospital for a check-up, and the damaged vehicle had to be towed. An alcohol test returned a positive result, and the driver was issued a provisional driving ban.
Later that night, in the early hours of Sunday, police were alerted to another accident around 3am on the Rocade de Differdange in Soleuvre. Initial reports suggest the driver lost control of the vehicle while heading towards Soleuvre, crashing into a guardrail and a wall. An alcohol test was conducted and also came back positive. The driver’s licence was confiscated.
A little later, shortly after 5.30am, another traffic accident was reported, this time on the CR121 in Hivange. For reasons still unclear, the driver lost control of the vehicle and overturned. The car was completely destroyed and had to be towed. The driver sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital for a check-up by emergency services. Alcohol was also detected in the blood here, and the person was fined.
