The police are investigating a series of burglaries and thefts across the country, including a mugging in the capital and multiple break-ins.

Luxembourg authorities are investigating multiple burglaries and thefts reported in recent hours, including break-ins, shoplifting, and a violent robbery.

In Peppange, an intruder smashed a window of a house on Rue Jean Jaminet but fled upon realising the property was occupied. Police are reviewing evidence, but no arrests have been made.

A shoplifting attempt at a Beggen store led to an arrest after the suspect was caught stealing alcohol. Further investigation revealed prior thefts, prompting the public prosecutor’s office to detain the individual.

Early Saturday morning, a break-in occurred at a bar on Rue de Bonnevoie in Luxembourg City, where a perpetrator shattered a window, ransacked the premises, and escaped before police arrived. Forensic teams are examining the scene.

In the early hours of Friday morning, police responded to reports of three suspects attempting home invasions while damaging houses and vehicles in Senningerberg. A restaurant burglar alarm alerted authorities, leading to two arrests inside the building. The third suspect was apprehended while hiding behind a hedge. All three were detained under orders from the public prosecutor’s office.

At around 2am on Saturday, a thief assaulted a victim on Rue de la Poste in Luxembourg City, stealing a necklace and mobile phone. The attacker initially asked for a lighter before snatching the chain and phone, then fleeing. Police have opened an investigation but have yet to identify the suspect.
