The national traffic police unit is once again offering free preventive safety checks for camper vans and caravans ahead of the summer holidays. The service will be available in Bertrange on Tuesday, 1 July and Thursday, 10 July, from 9am–1pm.

The initiative aims to reduce the risk of road accidents caused by overloaded vehicles. As part of the control, drivers can have their vehicle weighed free of charge.

In addition to weight checks, police officers will be on hand to offer advice on a range of safety topics including load securing, tyre condition, vehicle documentation, and driving licence requirements for different vehicle types.

The checks will take place at the UPR headquarters, located at 21a, rue du Chemin de Fer, L-8057 Bertrange.

This annual initiative is part of the police’s broader road safety efforts during the busy summer travel period.
