A prison officer was assaulted by an inmate, authorities confirmed in an official statement. The incident occurred inside the facility, prompting an immediate response from other officers present, who intervened to secure the safety of their colleague.
Following the altercation, the injured officer was taken to hospital for medical evaluation and treatment. He has since been discharged. The inmate involved also underwent a medical check-up.
The public prosecutor’s office has been notified, and the Grand Ducal Police visited the scene. An investigation into the incident is currently ongoing.
