The CFL Twitter page was constantly updating on Sunday night. Just after midnight, line 60 had already seen seven cancellations.
The cause was an operation issue which remained unresolved by 4am on Monday morning, as the RE6330 train from Esch-sur-Alzette to Luxembourg City due to depart at 4.44am was also cancelled.
There were also cancellations on line 50 and 70. CFL confirmed that a technical issue affecting the overhead line in Luxembourg had caused the train disruptions.
CFL announced this issue at 5.18am, but by 6.30am the problem remained unresolved and a number of cancellations and delays remained outstanding.
