Major rescue resources were deployed to the location of ArcelorMittal in Esch-sur-Alzette on early Friday morning as a large fire had erupted among metal waste.

No less than five fire brigades were deployed to the site of ArcelorMittal in Esch-sur-Alzette after a major fire erupted at the site overnight. Emergency services reported on Friday morning that the blaze had started from metal waste.

The logistics centre, the technological support group, and the CBRN advisory group were also involved in the rescue operations that took place at around 2am in Esch.

Due to the fire, a considerable cloud of smoke was unleashed over Esch.

At present, no further details around the fire have been released, though there is indication that nobody was injured in the blaze.
