Following its bankruptcy in 2017, Hotel Alfa is set to open its doors once more. While renovation works are putting the opening on hold until 2021, the establishment is set to go back into business under the new name "Luxembourg Marriott Hotel Alfa", according to business magazine Paperjam.
The agreement follows a year and a half of employees seeking other employment and shareholders looking for investors. The Alfa Place de la Gare and ALfa Gestion firms, represented by Nico Rollinger and Werner Würgler, came to the agreement with the international hotel chain and its Luxembourg-based business, Luxembourg Hotel Management.
According to our sources, construction costs are running close to the €40 million figure.
Marriott International specialises in luxury hotels and currently owns 6,700 hotels in 130 different countries.
