African Swine FeverLuxembourg's army has started work on 9km fence on the Belgian border between Linger and Grass

RTL Today
The border fence is being put in place by the army to stop infected wild boars from crossing over into Luxembourg.

Work started and is also expected to be finished this week, according to information provided by the ministry for the environment last week.

The fence will act as an additional layer of protection alongside the barrier already in place along the new enclosure. It is being built by the army in collaboration with the roads and bridges department (Ponts et Chaussées).

It will cover a stretch of the border from Grass to Linger and Petange.

The project is not without critics, however. More information in our earlier article, below.
