Demonstrations and uprisings have been multiplying across Europe to pressure political leaders into taking a decision concerning the conflict which has been raging in Gaza for 18 months."Europe and Luxembourg can remain neither complicit nor silent in the face of the situation in Gaza,” Doctors Without Borders wrote to the press ahead of the demonstration Monday at noon.
On Monday 16 June, the non-profit organisation participated in a symbolic act right in front of the Chamber of Deputies. Their objective was to officially submit an open letter to the Luxembourgish deputies.
The President of Parliament has reportedly confirmed his attendance. Handicap International, Amnesty International and CARE Luxembourg also took part.
An hour earlier, a ‘European’ press conference organised by Doctors Without Borders was held in Brussels. The aim of the conference was to call on EU Member States to ‘take concrete measures to stop the war in Gaza’.
