As part of its ongoing strategy to test the national public warning and information system, the government will carry out its monthly test of Luxembourg's siren network.

From 11am, the geolocated SMS alert channel will also be tested in Esch-Belval.

This time, the Grand Ducal Police will send a test message to mobile phones connected to mobile network antennas in the designated area.

The test message will also be published simultaneously through the LU-Alert mobile app, on the LU-Alert website and on the Grand Ducal Police's Facebook page. As this is only a test, residents in the affected area do not need to take any action or adopt any particular behaviour.

The authorities stressed that the geolocated SMS system targets all mobile devices connected to a Luxembourg mobile network antenna within the designated area at the time the test message is sent.

Further information is available on the LU-Alert website.
