Gold necklace stolen

At around 5pm on Tuesday, a passenger was attacked whilst sitting on a Luxembourg City bus near the "Aciérie" bus stop. The assailant attempted to rip a gold chain from around his neck. When the victim fought back, another individual intervened – albeit not to help. Instead, the second person turned out to be an accomplice of the first, and together they both succeeded in stealing the necklace and escaping. A search for the two suspects proved unfruitful.

Police advise the public to exercise caution and to pay attention on public transport. Keep valuables and bags close by and do not show any valuable items off.

He then ran away from the scene, but was located by police later on with the help of a physical description. The two victims received medical treatment.

Multiple cars were broken into in the capital on Monday night, with vehicles found with broken windows on Val des Bons-Malades, Rue de la Lavande, Rue Jean-Pierre Sauvage, Boulevard Prince Félix and Rue des Lilas in Kirchberg. At 6.30pm on Tuesday, another car was found in a similar state on Boulevard Général George S. Patton in Strassen.

Police recommend not leaving any valuables in cars, and to double-check they are locked before walking away.

Petrol station employee injured in shoplifting incident
