A lorry overturned on the A1 motorway near Kirchberg on Monday evening, leading to a full closure of the highway and significant traffic disruptions. The incident, which left one person injured, occurred around 7.25pm on the A1 heading toward Trier, near the Kirchberg exit.
The lorry flipped over and came to rest on the safety barrier, also causing a pole to fall onto the opposite lane.
According to police, the accident forced authorities to close the A1 in both directions between the Irrgarten roundabout and Senningerberg. A diversion was set up to ease traffic flow, but major delays still occurred throughout the evening.
No information has yet been released regarding any injuries, and the cause of the crash remains unknown.
