A vehicle was reported to the authorities on Monday afternoon for driving along the A3 motorway near Dudelange with damaged tyres. A patrol intercepted the car near the Berchem service station and proceeded to check the driver.
The man behind the wheel was unable to present a valid driving licence and tested positive for both alcohol and drugs, resulting in a report being filed. Inside the car, officers then discovered several crates of alcoholic beverages, prompting the involvement of customs authorities and the public prosecutor’s office, who are now handling the follow-up.
Later that same afternoon, police received a report of a severely damaged vehicle in Niederkorn, with the driver likely being heavily intoxicated. When officers arrived at the scene, they found the car with no one inside.
As reported by the police, the vehicle’s owner was eventually located, with officers determining that she had collided with a traffic sign at the ‘Biff’ roundabout. The woman tested positive for alcohol, after which her driving licence was confiscated.
