Luxembourg police recorded multiple drink-driving offences on Thursday evening, as part of a coordinated crackdown across the country to counter drink driving.

From 6 to 10.30pm, alcohol controls were ordered by the public prosecutor’s office on Thursday. The checks targeted Vianden, Diekirch, and Stolzembourg.

In total, 566 motorists had to conduct a breathalyser test. Four cases resulted in positive results, one driver’s license was confiscated with immediate effect.

During the checks, five other infractions were witnessed, but the police did not add further details.

More drink-driving incidents

In separate control operations, drivers’ licenses were seized on the A1, in Bous, Sanem, the A3 and on the A7. The police caught drink-drivers in the act including one motorcyclist.
