Luxembourg police documented several traffic incidents involving impaired drivers during Monday evening patrols across different municipalities.

The evening’s incidents began at 6.30pm when police responded to reports of an intoxicated motorcyclist at a Remich petrol station. The rider tested positive for alcohol and was prohibited from continuing their journey.

At around 7.15pm, police stopped another vehicle on Rue d’Audun in Esch-sur-Alzette for driving with an open boot. During inspection, officers discovered a crack pipe beside the driver, who admitted to recent drug use. A body search yielded additional drug paraphernalia. Deemed unfit to drive, an incident report was drawn up on the orders of the public prosecutor’s office.

Still in Esch, officers observed a vehicle illegally entering Rue de Belval, a one-way street, at around 8.30pm. The driver, who failed to present a valid licence or vehicle documents, was found with a partially smoked joint in the car. After displaying clear signs of substance impairment, the individual tested positive for both alcohol and drugs. Authorities imposed an immediate driving ban, confiscated the vehicle per the public prosecutor’s order, and issued a fine.
