
The man, who was sentenced by the Luxembourg court to a fine of €3,500 and a suspended driving ban of 18 months due to a hit and run case at first instance, was acquitted on appeal.
In June 2017 the man, who was allegedly drunk at the time, caused an accident in Bridel by crashing into a parked vehicle. When police arrived at the scene, the defendant was gone. He was getting stitches by his general practitioner at the same time. As the defendant only contacted the police the next day, his alcohol levels could not be measured.
