In a statement released by the Green Party, they highlighted their agenda also included the new Indicative Nuclear Programme for the Community. This program outlines a planned 11% increase in the EU’s installed nuclear capacity by 2050 – despite ongoing environmental concerns and unresolved safety issues.

The Green Party criticise the proposed expansion, arguing that nuclear energy remains economically unconvincing. Instead, they urge the Luxembourg government to adopt a clear position against further nuclear development at an EU level and call for the involvement of both parliament and the public in shaping these decisions.
