Lux AutofestivalGovernment looking in to subsidising electric cars

RTL Today
Claude Turmes of the Greens said that the government is trying to give people incentives to invest in the future at the Lux Autofestival.

Energy minister Claude Turmes was asked where the government stood on a possible subsidisation of electric cars and the Greens politician replied that they were working on getting it done before the Lux Autofestival to give people looking to buy a new car more incentive to go electric.

The government is currently evaluating its options from a legal standpoint and is exploring different options such as retroactively paying out the electric car subsidy.

The different political parties are in agreement about one thing: Out with fossil fuel energy and in with renewable energy sources.

Turmes presented the government's energy goals to the parliamentary commission, detailing the government's plan of making the energy sector more efficient and innovative.

Wind and solar energy are considered to be the future of the energy sector and the government is working towards giving everyone the opportunity to be both energy consumer and energy provider.
