As part of the Luxembourg Urban Garden (LUGA) exhibition, Géisskan will turn Luxembourg’s Municipal Park into a space for collective creativity, offering free workshops, available to all, and culminating in a multidisciplinary open-air show.

From 14 May–29 June 2025, as part of the Luxembourg Urban Garden (LUGA) exhibition, which launched on 7 May, the Kinnekswiss will be transformed into a space for collective creativity. As Géisskan Kollektiv’s website explains, “Over several weeks, the park becomes a place to write, listen, perform, and explore urban nature through art. The project begins with an open poetry lab inviting everyone – residents, students, and passers-by – to create poems, stories, and sound recordings inspired by the park. These public workshops offer a space to reflect on the park and its role in urban life, past and future... The journey culminates in a multidisciplinary open-air show combining poetry, sound art, and dance – a celebration of the voices, rhythms, and textures of the park.”

From 14–30 May 2025, workshops and masterclasses will take place in a large tent on the grass; everyone is welcome to attend. The pop-up lab opens daily for four hours, and offers writing materials, recording equipment, and guidance from experienced poets. Some days are reserved for school classes, and others are designed as open sessions, for all, on a drop-in basis.

There will also be three masterclasses, featuring accomplished artists Sam Erpelding (LU), Sylvia Búho (BE), and Wehwalt Koslovsky (DE). These masterclasses focus on writing about nature and target poets, writers, and other artists and creatives of Luxembourg, providing some new inspiration for local artists. You can sign-up for these classes via geisskan@outlook.com.

From 15–29 June, poetry slams and boundary crossing performances will take place.

A traditional poetry slam will take place on 15 June under the title Plants, Ants, and Climate Justice. This will kick off at 4pm at LUGA’s Culture Hub stage.

All the creations developed during the poetry lab will be made accessible to the public in June.

The Grand Finale will take place on 29 June at 4.30pm on LUGA’s Culture Hub stage. The performance Leaves, Lines & Leaping Moves brings together all the texts developed during the workshops with sound, art, and contemporary dance. Choreographer Nora Noush will join the Géisskan Kollektiv to transform poetry into movement.

All events are free of charge. Find more information on the website.
