Police responded to multiple incidents across Luxembourg on Monday, including a collision involving an intoxicated driver, break-ins, and thefts.

A series of incidents kept Luxembourg police busy throughout Monday, starting with a home burglary in Roedgen and culminating in a late-night crash involving an intoxicated driver.

On Monday night, a car collided with a police vehicle on the A13. The officers were securing a special convoy on the A4 slip road when the motorist struck their car. The driver tested positive for alcohol and drugs and was found to have an expired driving licence. Two officers were taken to hospital for evaluation.

In a separate incident at around 3am, police patrolling near a construction site on the A6 spotted a speeding vehicle. They stopped the driver near Aire de Capellen, where it was discovered that the individual was intoxicated. The police revoked their driving licence on the spot.

Break-ins and thefts

On Monday afternoon, unknown intruders broke into a single-family home on Route de Luxembourg in Roedgen, ransacking every room.

In Soleuvre, three suspects attempted to enter a residence on Rue des Érables through a terrace door but were interrupted by a neighbour and fled. Police launched a manhunt, but the perpetrators remain at large.

That same afternoon in Hesperange, a thief distracted a victim withdrawing cash from an ATM and stole the money. Authorities are investigating the incident.

Meanwhile, on Monday evening, a theft was reported at a snack bar in Luxembourg City’s central railway station. The suspect stole a bag and a small suitcase but was quickly apprehended by police, who returned the items to the owner. A search of the culprit revealed additional stolen goods, drugs, and pepper spray.
