According to the police report, the officials noticed a car on Avenue Marie-Thérèse in Luxembourg City. As they suspected the driver of intoxication, he was stopped near Boulevard Prince Henri.
The driver was clearly intoxicated, but refused to comply with a breathalyser test before displaying aggressive behaviour towards the officials. Since he posed a threat to himself and others – injuring two police officers during the intervention –, he was detained and fined for rebellion.
During the night leading up to Monday, four further drink-drivers were caught. Two driver’s licenses were revoked and two driving bans were ordered by the public prosecutor’s office.
