Lou Pepin from the Institute of Luxembourgish Linguistics and Literature studies decided to delve deeper into this subject. To talk in further detail about the topic, Lou was a guest on the Sam Steen Show on Today Radio.
Lou is interested in the linguistic processes that take place when foreigners enter a polyglot space like Luxembourg. For example, how choosing a specific language might include or exclude people.
In the second phase of his research, he has put together a survey aimed at cross-border workers. The survey encompasses a wide range of questions, including inquiries about the languages used in their daily errands.
Within his research, Lou wants to include as many variables as possible such as age, gender and country of origin. Additionally, Lou also wants to know exactly where in the country each cross-border respondent works.
