Plans for unisex toilets in school buildings sparked considerable controversy this week. Even within the governing coalition, there is no consensus on the issue. Now, teachers’ union FÉDUSE-CGFP has also voiced their opinion of the Education Ministry’s pilot project.

According to the union, gender-neutral toilets should be installed as an additional option, while separate facilities for girls and boys should be maintained. FÉDUSE-CGFP also says it was never involved in the decision-making process. The union adds that it would like to see other secondary school issues addressed with the same political energy.

The pilot project is set to be discussed on Monday mornign on RTL, including a response from Minister of Education Claude Meisch.
