Emergency services were called out several times on Friday evening and during the night across Luxembourg, with at least eight people injured in separate road accidents, according to the Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS).
The most serious incident occurred at around 3.50am on the RN14 between Diekirch and Stegen, where a car had crashed. The Ettelbruck emergency medical services, ambulances from Larochette and Nordstad, as well as rescue teams from Ingeldorf and Nordstad, were dispatched to the scene. Five people were injured and taken to the hospital.
Just minutes earlier, at around 3.40am, emergency services from the Sanem and Differdange fire and rescue centres had already been mobilised following another road accident on the CR174 between Differdange and Hussigny in France. The accident left one person injured.
Earlier in the evening, at around 5.20pm, two people were injured in a collision on the Route de Mondorf in Bettembourg. Emergency services from Bettembourg and Dudelange were called to transport the injured to hospital. Bettembourg firefighters were also at the scene.
The exact circumstances of each accident remain under investigation.
