15 Luxembourgish municipalities were recognised at international level in Switzerland this week, receiving the Gold rank of the European Energy Award.

In total, 58 local authorities from Germany, France, Liechtenstein, Austria, Switzerland and Luxembourg were awarded gold status at the European Energy Awards for their dedication and work in climate protection.

A local authority qualifies for gold status if they implement over 75% of the potential measures to increase climate protection and energy efficiency. Among the 15 Luxembourgish councils were Luxembourg City, Esch-sur-Alzette, Beckerich, Clervaux and Wiltz.
