After an extensive search operation in the Niederfeulen area on Friday evening, the police are once again on alert, this time in connection with a burglary in Bissen.
Two search operations were launched in quick succession to apprehend suspects who had either committed or attempted a burglary.
The first search began shortly after 7pm on Friday following an attempted break-in in Niederfeulen, in the north of the country. Despite deploying the appropriate resources, the police announced at around 8.40pm that the operation had been unsuccessful and was called off. Soon after, a new report of a burglary in Bissen triggered another manhunt.
Police are urging residents to remain vigilant and to immediately report any suspicious persons or vehicles by calling 113. They are also advising the public not to pick up hitchhikers in the area.
Earlier the same day, at around 6am, police patrols in Eschdorf were also on the trail of suspected burglars and successfully arrested one man two hours later.
