The new Esch-Lallange shopping centre, a project years in the making, will open its doors on 29 October, featuring a significantly larger Cactus supermarket and 16 other shops.

After years of planning and construction, the new Esch-Lallange shopping centre will officially open to the public on 29 October, marking the end of a long-awaited development. The centrepiece of the complex is a new Cactus supermarket, which at 7,300 square metres is 30% larger than its predecessor in the area. The store is also equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure and will stock approximately 60,000 items.

Preparations for the opening are in their final stages. While fresh produce will be delivered just before the launch, the shelves are already nearly fully stocked a week in advance. The supermarket has expanded its team, hiring 30 additional employees to bring its total workforce to around 120.

In a notable shift, the store has installed six self-service checkouts, adapting to a modern retail trend the chain had previously resisted.

Alongside the supermarket, the shopping arcade will feature 16 other shops, including a travel agency, a bakery, a hair salon, and a fitness centre. The complex also includes 67 rental flats spread across three floors, although these are scheduled to be made available at a later date.
