During its monthly review of the labour market, the Economic Committee approved short-time work requests from 49 companies, a measure that could affect nearly 5,000 employees next November.

The Economic Committee has approved partial unemployment for 49 companies, potentially affecting up to 4,872 employees in November 2025. The committee, which meets monthly to analyse the labour market, reviewed 57 applications for short-time work. Of these, 49 were granted approval.

It is important to note that the number of approved companies does not reflect the final count that will implement the measure. Precise figures on the actual use of partial unemployment are only available with a three-month delay.

For instance, of the 50 companies approved for July, only 28 ultimately made use of the scheme, at a cost to the state of €811,000.
