Police carried out a number of checks on vehicles using the A4 motorway on Thursday morning, noting a number of violations of the Highway Code.

Fifteen motorcyclists were fined for dangerous overtaking, and three others were stopped for using non-compliant helmet visors.

One motorbike was seized by officers on the spot after it transpired that the rider did not possess a valid driver's licence.

Three motorists were fined for having illegal exhaust systems installed in their vehicles, and two were stopped due to issues with their tyres.

Five people were cautioned for using their mobile phones while driving.

The Grand Ducal police added that a number of people received warnings as their documents were not adequate.
