In response to a parliamentary question by MP Laurent Mosar (CSV), the Ministry of Home Affairs reported 99 pro-Palestinian demonstrations in the Grand Duchy over the past two years.
The Minister of Home Affairs Léon Gloden (CSV) unveiled that 13 demonstrations were held in 2023, 46 in 2024, and 40 this year, counting until 1 October. All 99 protests were declared in advance and supervised by the police.
In his response to the parliamentary question, the minister also explained that regular police surveillance and checks were conducted of the sites in question, and regular exchanges with synagogue security officers were set up. The police could not disclose further details into security matters for the protection of the relevant sites.
