To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Grand Duke’s reign, Their Royal Highnesses the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess took part in a special podcast recorded with students from the European School Luxembourg II in Mamer. The episode was co-produced by the Maison du Grand-Duc and the school.
Seven final-year students – Bruno and his team (Aimée, Julian, Anna, Inès, Julia, and Petar) – led a candid and thoughtful forty-minute conversation with Their Royal Highnesses. The discussion reflected the interests and concerns of the students, who approached the exchange with curiosity and openness.
The conversation revolved around six key themes: Luxembourg’s role in the world, the Grand Duchess’s advocacy for women’s rights, environmental issues, education, sport, and family life.
As the students prepare for their final exams this month, they too are on the cusp of a major life transition, stepping into higher education or the professional world. Similarly, Their Royal Highnesses are entering a new chapter as they approach retirement. This shared sense of transition brought emotional depth to the conversation, as both generations reflected on the significance of their respective changes.
The podcast offers a rare glimpse into the personal reflections of the Grand Ducal couple, while amplifying the voices and hopes of the next generation.
