RTL Luxembourg today announced its new leadership structure, effective 1 January 2025. These changes follow the passing of Steve Schmit, former Content Director and Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Deputy CEO) of RTL Luxembourg.

Christian Schmitz will be promoted to Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Deputy CEO) of RTL Luxembourg.

In addition to his current role as Managing Director of the advertising sales house IP Luxembourg (IPL), he will be responsible for RTL Luxembourg's transformation process, the entire back office, Human Resources, and Business Intelligence.

Sandra Bintz, currently Head of Digital Products and Deputy Content Director, will be appointed to the executive management (Comité de direction) as Director of Programmes & Products.

In this position, she will oversee the content of the culture team and entertainment, with Jeff Spielmann, Head of TV Programmes, and David Gloesener, Head of Radio Programmes, reporting to her. She will also be responsible for RTL Luxembourg’s digital products and the marketing team.

Her long tenure and deep familiarity with RTL Luxembourg, combined with her well-known and appreciated empathy, make her the ideal person for the position. From 1 January 2025, RTL Luxembourg's Management Board will be composed as follows: Christophe Goossens (CEO), Daniel Felgueiras Da Cunha (CFO), Christian Schmitz (COO and Deputy CEO), Sandra Bintz (Director of Programmes & Products), Luc Marteling (News Director) and Tom Weber (CTO).
