Train traffic between Mersch and Luxembourg City came to a halt on Saturday afternoon following a "tragic incident" at Walferdange station.
Following an intervention by emergency services at the Walferdange train station on Saturday afternoon, CFL informed that circulation would resume around 6.30pm.
Some delays or train suppressions could still occur, and the company asks travellers to visit their website, should they need more information.
Intervention on Saturday afternoon
Train services between Mersch and Luxembourg City were suspended on Saturday afternoon, the Luxembourg National Railway Company (CFL) announced.
Upon enquiry, the police confirmed to our colleagues from RTL.lu that a "tragic incident" involving a person and a train occurred at Walferdange station.
Forensic police were called to the scene. CFL arranged two substitute buses to assist affected passengers, with train circulation expected to resume around 6.30 pm.
