The Luxembourg Sports Press hosted its annual Awards Night yesterday at Casino 2000 in Mondorf-les Bains.

And just like last year, Patrizia van der Weken was crowned Sportswoman of the Year. The sprinter, who is a national record holder in the 100m and 200m also qualified for the semi-finals in the 100m at the Olympic Games in Paris.

Tom Habscheid clinched the title of Sportsman of the Year. He won bronze at the Paralympic Games in the shot put. It is the first time ever that a paralympic athlete has been awarded this title.

The women's basketball national team secured the Team of the Year award.

Coach of the year was Arnaud Starck.
