
The police carried out speed checks on Luxembourg’s highways on Sunday night.
During speed checks carried out on Sunday between 3:00 PM and 4:30 PM on the A7 in both directions between Mersch and Ettelbrück, one vehicle was clocked at 255 km/h and another at 222 km/h, far exceeding the authorized limit of 130 km/h.
The vehicles were stopped, and both drivers’ licenses were confiscated. Additionally, six fines of €145 and a deduction of two points were issued, as other drivers were caught speeding more than 25 km/h above the maximum limit on the highway.
Furthermore, one driver did not have their license with them.
During another speed check on Sunday between 6:15 PM and 7:00 PM on the A13 in the Esch-Pétange direction, a vehicle was recorded traveling at 203 km/h instead of the permitted 110 km/h.
The vehicle was immobilized, and the driver's license was confiscated. Another €145 fine and a deduction of two points were issued for speeding.
