The Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps reported a series of collisions and traffic accidents, as well as fridges and washing machines on fire on Monday evening.
Two people required emergency assistance following a crash on the RN31 between Bascharage and Pétange shortly after 10pm. Half an hour later, another person was injured in an accident on the CR110 between Clemency and Bascharage.
Earlier on Monday, a person sustained injuries in an accident on Rue Gaston Diderich in Luxembourg-Belair shortly after 7pm. They were transported to hospital by the local fire brigade.
Finally, two other people were hospitalised following an accident on Rue de Neudorf at around 6.30pm.
Five interventions due to fire
Fire fighters and emergency teams from Lintgen, Lorentzweiler, Luxembourg and Niederanven intervened on the A7 as a fire broke out in the Grouft tunnel on Monday afternoon. No injuries were reported, although the vehicle fire led to road closures for some time.
Elsewhere, the fire brigade was called out to put out fires in Kirchberg following a bin fire; Dommeldange, where smoke was reported in the boiler room of a local pre-school just before 8pm; the Schrassig prison, where a fire broke out in the laundry room at 10pm; and in Berdorf where a refrigerator is said to have caught fire.
