Sunday promises the beginning of summer with dry and warm weather. However, what can we expect on Saturday, when the entire country gathers to celebrate National Day?

It's been a wet and cloudy morning, with showers and occasional thunderstorms expected. By midday, the weather will settle down with drier intervals anticipated. As the evening progresses, rain chances diminish further, and after 8 PM, the sky will partially clear, leading to cooler temperatures.

For those planning to celebrate late into the night we advise bringing a jacket, preferably with a hood, as a few raindrops or showers cannot be completely ruled out. Although the risk of rain continues to decrease steadily, meaning the chances of having a dry National Day celebration towards the evening are high, with the rain risk almost at 0%. But keep an eye on the weather forecast...just in case.

In the city, temperatures will drop from 16°C at 8 PM to around 14°C by midnight, continuing down to 13°C towards the morning, making it feel quite cool due to the humidity.

Speaking of rain and humidity, rainfall amounts are expected to decrease throughout Saturday. By midday, some areas could receive up to 3.7 mm of rain, decreasing to just 1 mm by 3 PM. Occasional drizzles may still occur afterwards, but the risk diminishes steadily.

On National Day itself, the weather promises to be even more favourable. You can look forward to a good amount of sunshine with thick cumulus clouds adorning the sky, and temperatures reaching up to 22°C.

High pressure will bring warm conditions at the beginning of the new week, with temperatures around 24°C on Monday and up to 26°C on Tuesday in the city, possibly reaching 28°C in the Moselle region. A light and dry breeze from the east will help disperse any remaining moisture. Is this finally the start of summer? Hopefully,  however, showers may once again return by midweek.
