Sunday's police report detailed several break-ins and robberies in Luxembourg on Saturday afternoon and evening.
On Saturday afternoon, unknown perpetrators broke into an apartment on Rue Guillaume de Machault in Merl and made off with jewellery.
In a separate incident in Ettelbruck, a car was broken into on Boulevard Grande-Duchesse Charlotte, and a bag was stolen. An attempt was made to break into a second car, but it was unsuccessful.
During the night on Saturday, several cars were broken into and ransacked by thieves in Vichten. Items stolen included a pair of sunglasses and some cash.
Presumed burglars caught in Bascharage
In Bascharage, presumed burglars were apprehended on Rue Emile Bofferding.
Upon arrival, officers observed two people creeping through a construction site with flashlights. They then went around a house and attempted to break open a door before trying to open several doors at a hotel.
The two suspects were stopped and searched by the police, who found a stolen watch in their possession. On the orders of the public prosecutor, they were arrested and brought before the investigating judge.
