The police apprehended multiple suspects linked to drug trafficking within the capital city.

On Tuesday evening, a patrol identified a group of individuals exhibiting suspicious behaviour in the Gare neighbourhood. Upon noticing police presence, one individual attempted to flee towards the central railway station. However, police swiftly intercepted and apprehended the suspect. Upon searching him, authorities discovered drugs, an undisclosed sum of cash, and a mobile phone in his possession, all of which were confiscated. Subsequent investigations led to suspicions of his involvement in drug dealing, prompting the public prosecutor to request his arrest.

During a separate incident on the night of 20 to 21 February, a routine check in the Gare neighbourhood led to the apprehension of two individuals, one of whom was identified as a potential buyer while the other was believed to be a dealer.

The alleged buyer was found in possession of a pellet of cocaine, while the suspected dealer was discovered with cash and a mobile phone. Additionally, officers uncovered six additional cocaine pellets in close proximity to the scene.

In a subsequent operation on Rue Adolphe Fischer, police encountered an individual exhibiting suspicious behaviour. Upon being approached by officers, the individual attempted to flee in a vehicle. Despite verbal commands from law enforcement, the suspect proceeded to drive off, ultimately colliding with and knocking down a police officer in the process. The officer escaped unscathed, while the fleeing individual was apprehended.
