Police revoked three driving licences for drink driving on Friday night.

At around 6.40pm, officers received a report of a motorist swerving erratically near the Friedhof roundabout in Diekirch. The vehicle was intercepted by a police patrol near Mierscherbierg. The driver failed a breathalyser test, and their driving licence was confiscated on the spot.

Shortly after midnight, a police patrol on Boulevard Jean Ulveling in Luxembourg City had to swerve to avoid another vehicle driving towards them in the wrong lane, successfully preventing a collision. Officers managed to stop the vehicle on Montée de Clausen. The driver admitted to having consumed alcohol, which was confirmed by a breathalyser test. Their driving licence was confiscated.

In Gilsdorf at around 1.30am, another police patrol narrowly avoided a collision with a car that had cut a corner on Rue du Pont. Officers decided to pull the driver over – a decision that proved justified. The driver’s blood alcohol level was found to be too high, and their driving licence was confiscated.
